A barn quilt is a painted version of a quilt pattern, traditionally mounted on a barn or other large building so that passers-by can easily see and enjoy it. A barn quilt trail is created when communities organize their barn quilts into a formal route to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Discovering barn quilts is fun for all ages. And it's free!
We're working with communities in and around Frankenmuth, Michigan, to share the story of barn quilt trails, encourage creation of quilt blocks on a self-guided driving tour, and celebrate what barn quilt trails offer. To raise funds for our trail, we offer workshops that are attended by people throughout the state and beyond.
