German Worship Service
German Worship Service – July 12th
On Sunday, July 12th, St. Lorenz’s monthly German worship service will be held at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. The sermon series “Open Arms” will focus on Jesus’ invitation to receive His gift of the Lord’s Supper, which enables and equips us for our faith journey. The service features German liturgy and an English sermon by Pastor Bill Hoesman, entitled “Heavenly Food" based on Matthew 26:26-28. German teacher Bärbel Stürmer and FHS graduate Anthony Plana will read the scripture lessons. A solo “Ich komm' zu deinem Abendmahle” (I Come O Savior to Thy Table) will be sung by Jordan Maurer and the congregation will join in singing favorite hymns: “Jesu, komm doch selbst zu mir” (Jesus, Savior, Come to Me), “Bis hierher hat mich Gott gebracht” (The Lord Hath Helped Me Hitherto), “Gott sei gelobet und gebenedeiet” (O Lord We Praise Thee), and “Nun danket all' und bringet Ehr'” (All Ye Who 0n This Earth Do Dwell). The service will be broadcast locally on Spectrum/Charter cable channel 191. It can also be viewed on the St. Lorenz website (Watch – Sanctuary Stream), the St. Lorenz app, and the Frankenmuth-Gunzenhausen Facebook page.
The next German worship service will be held on August 9th, 2026. May we be blessed as we reflect on our “Communion” with Jesus and each other.
